In this article, we’ll delve into a detailed comparison of both, focusing on processor performance, 5G capabilities, and gaming experience. Let’s dive in and see how these two flagship devices stack up.

Processor Performance: Snapdragon 8 Elite vs A18 Pro

Benchmark Scores: Snapdragon 8 Elite’s Power

One of the best ways to compare chipsets is through benchmark performance tests.

When tested using Geekbench 6, the Snapdragon 8 Elite demonstrated a significant advantage in multicore performance, reaching nearly 10,000 points—showing that this chip excels at handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

On the other hand, A18 Pro in the iPhone 16 Pro Max performed better in single-core performance, making it more efficient when running apps that require a powerful single core.

Browser Performance: A18 Pro vs Snapdragon 8 Elite

In the browser speedometer 3.0 test, which measures processor performance when running web-based applications, the iPhone 16 Pro Max with A18 Pro outperformed the Snapdragon 8 Elite in the IU 13 device.

This highlights that while Snapdragon 8 Elite is better at multitasking, A18 Pro remains superior for web-based apps and tasks that rely on strong single-core performance.

5G Performance: Snapdragon 8 Elite’s Network Speed

Snapdragon 8 Elite’s Superiority in 5G

If you’re looking for a device with top-notch network performance, the Snapdragon 8 Elite may be your best bet.

In 5G speed tests, devices featuring Snapdragon 8 Elite consistently outperformed the iPhone 16 Pro Max with the A18 Pro, particularly in terms of download and upload speeds.

This was clearly evident when tested with GoSIM on India’s 5G network, showing Qualcomm’s edge in modem development.

Network Performance Comparison: 5G in Focus

While the iPhone 16 Pro Max offers excellent 5G support, Snapdragon 8 Elite clearly outperforms A18 Pro in terms of faster network speeds.

For users in regions with rapidly growing 5G networks, this can make a noticeable difference, offering better connectivity and download speeds.

Gaming Performance: Snapdragon 8 Elite Leads the Charge

Graphics Performance: 3DMark Wildlife Benchmark

Gaming is one of the most discussed aspects of smartphone performance, and we put both devices to the test with 3DMark Wildlife to evaluate GPU stability and overall graphics performance.

While A18 Pro in the iPhone 16 Pro Max showed better GPU stability, Snapdragon 8 Elite performed better in terms of loop scores and average FPS.

This indicates that Snapdragon 8 Elite is better equipped to handle graphically demanding games over extended play sessions.

FPS Performance in Gaming: Snapdragon 8 Elite Takes the Lead

We conducted further testing with Solar Bay racing tests and GFX Aztec Ruin benchmarks.

The results showed that Snapdragon 8 Elite consistently outperformed A18 Pro in FPS and total frame counts, making it the better choice for gamers who want higher performance in graphically intense games.

In our racing tests, the device with Snapdragon 8 Elite achieved FPS between 25 and 56, while the iPhone only managed 18 to 40 FPS.

Gaming Efficiency: Temperature Management

One of the key advantages of Snapdragon 8 Elite is its superior ability to manage heat during gaming.

While the iPhone 16 Pro Max supports 120 FPS natively in certain games, devices with Snapdragon 8 Elite maintain much cooler temperatures—around 35°C, compared to iPhone’s 40°C.

This efficient heat management allows Snapdragon 8 Elite devices to sustain longer, more stable gaming sessions without overheating.

Conclusion: Snapdragon 8 Elite Challenges iPhone’s Dominance

Raw Performance: Snapdragon 8 Elite vs A18 Pro

After testing various benchmarks and scenarios, it’s clear that both Snapdragon 8 Elite and A18 Pro are powerhouse chips. However, if you prioritize multitasking performance, gaming, and 5G speeds, Snapdragon 8 Elite edges out the A18 Pro in many aspects.

On the other hand, A18 Pro in the iPhone 16 Pro Max still offers superior single-core performance and web-based app stability.

Final Decision: Choose Snapdragon 8 Elite or A18 Pro?

If you’re after a device with excellent multitasking capabilities, gaming performance, and superior 5G speeds, then the Snapdragon 8 Elite is the clear winner.

However, if you value stability with web applications and prefer the iOS experience, the iPhone 16 Pro Max with the A18 Pro chip remains a solid choice in the premium smartphone market.
