One of its standout features is the 6.8-inch OLED LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering a smooth and visually pleasing experience.
The device features a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, slightly wider than the standard 20:9 found in most Android phones.
This makes typing and navigation more comfortable. Its design is complemented by a sturdy aluminum frame and a glossy back panel, though the black color variant feels a bit plain compared to the more striking marble white option.
Camera Performance: Innovation or Just Average?
Main Camera and Periscope Zoom Technology
The Honor Magic 7 Pro is equipped with a 50 MP main camera with a variable aperture of f/1.4 to f/2.0. However, this aperture adjustment only offers two modes, making it less versatile compared to competitors like the Xiaomi 14 Ultra or Huawei’s flagship models.
That said, the main camera delivers sharp photos with a new color processing technology that creates more natural contrast and an organic, film-like aesthetic.
Another highlight is its 200 MP periscope zoom lens with a large 1/1.4-inch sensor, capable of 3x optical zoom. However, when compared to devices like the Vivo X200 Pro, the zoom lens on the Honor falls short in terms of sharpness, detail, and image depth.
Ultra-Wide Camera and Front Camera
The ultra-wide camera performs decently, though it doesn’t match the quality of the main camera or zoom lens.
Meanwhile, the front-facing camera offers a wider field of view than most, making it ideal for group selfies or video calls.
Studio Harcourt Portrait Mode
Honor has partnered with Studio Harcourt, a legendary French photography studio, to deliver a professional portrait mode.
This feature produces photos with classic lighting and smooth bokeh effects, appealing to portrait photography enthusiasts.
Performance and Key Features
Evolving MagicOS
The Honor Magic 7 Pro runs on MagicOS, which has continued to mature over time. One of its standout features is the customizable home screen design, allowing users to adjust app icons and folder sizes.
Additionally, tools like Magic Portal make file sharing between apps seamless with drag-and-drop functionality.
Features like AI Object Eraser and AI Text Summary add to the phone’s utility, although these are now standard in many flagship devices. However, the interface has some drawbacks, such as the difficulty of accessing app information directly from the home screen.
Advanced Biometric Security and Eye Tracking
The phone includes a 3D facial recognition sensor, which is significantly more secure than the 2D face scanners found on most Android devices.
Additionally, its eye-tracking feature allows users to open notifications or apps simply by looking at them. While innovative, some might see this as more of a gimmick than a practical feature.
Battery Life and Daily Performance

With a 5,270 mAh battery, the Honor Magic 7 Pro offers decent endurance but doesn’t particularly stand out. Under heavy use, the battery lasts up to 10 hours. Fast charging technology ensures quick power-ups when needed.
Day-to-Day Performance
Powered by the latest chipset, the phone handles multitasking, gaming, and demanding applications with ease.
The combination of a responsive display, ergonomic design, and MagicOS enhancements ensures a pleasant user experience overall.
Verdict: Is It Worth Buying?
The Honor Magic 7 Pro is a flagship device packed with advanced features, including a 200 MP periscope zoom camera, a high-quality OLED display, and 3D facial recognition technology.
However, it has its shortcomings, such as average battery life and camera performance that lags behind competitors like the Vivo X200 Pro.
If you prioritize an ergonomic design, cutting-edge security features, and innovative AI tools, the Honor Magic 7 Pro is a solid choice.
However, for users seeking the ultimate photography experience, this device might not be the top contender in its class.
